Attendees:

Diane, Debbie, Stephanie, Kuhkee, Till

Topics:

Requirements documents - add sections on Diagnostics and Alarms to Non-functional Requirements sections in all docs.

Reviews - Diane will hold one high-level Fast Feedback Requirements review with physicists and operators by the end of next week. Actuator IOC, Measurement IOC, Controller IOC and Network reviews will be held within the controls department, after Diane's review is complete. The lower level reviews can include 'conceptual design'.

Project file and tracking - Current rough estimates to remain. We will break major tasks into subtasks and estimate at the point of 'conceptual design'.

Controller application - will run on a dedicated IOC with an EVR. We will not attempt to combine Controller and Measurement functions, or Controller and Actuator functions on the same IOC. The new Controller IOCs (processors and EVRs) can reside in existing crates. The Controller Application will be designed to control multiple feedback loops in one IOC.

Measurement IOC FNET Interface - Till will do this for the BPMs, someone else can do the BLENs, TOROs etc. The BLENs have been upgraded to use the faster 'private network' design used by BPMS and RF, so they are ready to go...

Network (FNET) -

  • will not support packet fragmentation (no large packets).
  • we will be able to add a whole new feedback loop without needing to reboot an IOC, as long as all devices used by the feedback loop, and the controller IOC, are already on the feedback network. ( configuring senders & receivers can be done without reboots)

Action Items:

  • Diane - prepare for and hold overall Fast Feedback requirements review
  • Everyone - add diagnostics and alarms requirements to docs
  • No labels
