For today
- Category definitions
- Build our parameter space (A/V, haptic, chat, computer access, access control, etc.)
- MS Teams
- Teams eval itself
- Sending an invite to get people into a teams meeting was straightforward (just a link/ invite)
- Argonne has it set up such that facility users have chat history access, otherwise if you are a pure "guest" then chat history behaves like zoom (volatile)
- Hand raising works like zoom, Hari is highlighted
- Together mode is... interesting
- Teams application has a persistent feature for meetings, where notes and chat can be stored, along with attachments
- Seems like a SLACK sort of system with video chat as the entry point (much in the same way that Zoom has a SLACK system inside it as well).
- Holo lens demo Olaf
- Pinch and stay features of the lens are very neat
- The teams view shows what Olaf is seeing including the AR view, which is really nice as it closes the loop on what he is seeing exactly.
- There is some shuddering during motion
- Can we take a picture during a session with higher resolution?
- Some reported head motion sickness (usual thing with these things)
- showing off opening a document
- Olaf's hands are not in the shot, but they are how he's interacting with the interface, wow
- Olaf says it's pretty comfortable, up to 4hrs weartime so far, but the battery is the limitation 2hrs, sealed in no hot swap
- How long did it take to get? Very fast. Inside.com (insight?).
- Screen display looks really good:
- Hoping to get some pricing for the service subscriptions
- Retina authentication (how does this work with federated logins?)
- Need a general account for a beamline, how to secure it?
- Can create a one-time-link for guest users to use to log into the headset
- Noise is being well managed, a slight whisper of a background noise present as Olaf speaks but otherwise very quiet, Olaf says it would grow loud if he didn't speak for a while.
- Wifi AP is something like 3m away from Olaf right now (2.4 or 5GHz?)
- Teams eval itself
- Demo Slack API (Hari)
- Headset deployments
- Realwear
- Alex Wallace complete LCLS field deployment of HMT1 and make some slides to report how this was done
- Hololens
- Remote access and Guides - Olaf + Alexis to demonstrate and discuss
- Realwear
