How to calibrate a Linac Head-Tail Phase Monitor

This example uses LI28.

Start at lclshome > RF/LI28. Click on Head-Tail Monitor readback.


Go to 'Phase Monitor Calibration...'


Select 'LI28' from drop-down menu. Press 'Start Calibration' button.


A Matlab correlation plot will be launched. It takes about 3 minutes to do the full scan. 

The area of interest is about the zero-crossing of the raw head-tail monitor SAM voltage vs the phase shifter setting. This data will be plotted, along with a linear fit to the data.



If you are happy with this fit, click 'Yes' to accept the calibration. Otherwise, click 'No'.

 

The Correlation Plot data is saved in two places.

It is saved in a dedicated directory. That path and file name are printed to the log:

 
 
It is also saved into the default Matlab data directory for that day:
