Your BTR is essential to initiate communication with the User Office. You normally get an email reminder to submit your BTR a few weeks before the start of your beam time. However, it is possible and recommended to proceed earlier to allow time for your collaborators access form processing, trainings, etc.

Keep in mind that SLAC has specific policies for foreign nationals; submitting your BTR as early as possible ensures that all your collaborators and yourself fulfill all entry requirements in a timely manner.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Log in to the user portal
  2. Go to the LCLS tab
  3. Click "Beam Time & Support Requests"
  4. Identify your active proposal row
  5. Click "New Request" in the "Submit Beam Time / Support Request" column
  6. Fill out the questionnaire, if you have any questions please contact your point of contact (POC)
