What tools would people be most interested in using?

Confluence and Jira

The G4CMP Confluence space and Jira project should both be publicly visible as read only.

For access to edit Confluence pages (e.g., to add slides for a meeting) or to create or comment on Jira tickets, please send a request to one of the community organizers (Noah Kurinsky, Ryan Linehan, or Michael Kelsey) with your full name and your institutional e-mail address.  We will open an internal ticket with SLAC IT to create a "Crowd" account and have you added to the "G4CMP-confluence-users" group.  Do not try to use the link on the Confluence or Jira login page to request an account; it doesn't work properly.

S3DF Computing Cluster

Under Construction

We are in the process of establishing access to S3DF - please contact Noah if you would like access, otherwise the below will not work at this time.

G4CMP currently has dedicated resources on S3DF, including one 256-core node, and access to a tiered expanded set of nodes including SuperCDMS resources as well as the general pool of S3DF compute. We are working on acquiring disk space, and in the interim we are borrowing existing spare disk capacity. More information will be added on storage availability and requirements. For now, it is recommended to move inactive data off the cluster to preserve disk space until we have enough spare capacity to host a healthy amount of scratch space.

To get access to the compute cluster, please follow the following steps.

  1. Ensure you have an active SLAC system ID (SID). If you have never been on-site, and do not have a general computing account, it's likely you need to request an ID.
    1. To request a new SLAC ID number fill this form out: https://vue.slac.stanford.edu/slac-site-access-portal
    2. Put Noah as your point of contact.
    3. You are collaborating with SLAC
    4. Put "G4CMP User" as reason for requesting access.
    5. Most likely the right category is 'affiliate'. We do not have a user group setup yet.
  2. Request a SLAC computing account here: https://it.slac.stanford.edu/support/KB0010082
    1. You will need you SLAC SID.
    2. Put Noah Kurinsky as your point of contact
    3. You will need both Unix and Windows accounts
    4. Once submitted please email Noah (kurinsky@slac.stanford.edu) to let him know to expect the request.
    5. Note: if you already have confluence access but did not have a computing account, you may want to think about merging those accounts to simplify your life.
  3. Once approved please complete cyber security training ASAP - your account will quickly be disabled otherwise
  4. ...S3DF instructions...
