Describe when someone would need this information. For example "when connecting to wi-fi for the first time".

First make sure you have No Machine setup

Download and setup No Machine from the PCDS COnfluence link below:

Remote Visualization

Setup the psnxopr.... server, different from the psana or general connection servers.

You must be added to the opr groups as well...Contact Mike Brown or PCDS contact if you're not allowed.

Follow these steps, hackerman:

  1. Launch No Machine and connect to the psnxopr.slac.stanford.edu connection.
  2. once you're connected, in the terminal, connect to the psdev machine
    >>>ssh -Y psdev
  3. Then connect to the cxi-monitor machine
    >>>ssh Y cxi-monitor
  4. Then change directories
    >>>cd /reg/neh/operator/cxiopr/bin
  5. now execute the alias
    >>>./cxihome
  6. which executes

cxihome -> /reg/g/pcds/package/epics/3.14-dev/screens/edm/cxi/current/cxihome

You now have access to cxi-monitor to check on things from a coffee shop or remote beach location. Remember not to get too click hapy as there will be lag. Bring extra screens if you want to do anything more complicated than checking some values or turning something on or off.

You may also want to use visual panels to communicate related information, tips or things users need to be aware of.
