Purpose: Establish a baseline for current and projected effort in SCA Data Management

Preamble:

SCA is looking at a transition period as it becomes more aligned with Lab-wide scientific computing and starts fulfilling its original charter of serving more than PPA. We are also looking at manpower requests from PPA for LSST, CDMS and SiD. So it is time to sort out where we stand on current workload and make projections for the future. We will start with information gathering.

Areas to get a handle on:

• Support of LSST camera, Fermi, EXO and CDMS (Tony)
• CDMS needs overall (Anders)
• HPS needs (Homer)
• LCLS data management needs (Amedeo)
• LCSim technical needs (Norman)
• LSST DM needs (Jacek)

Charge:

• describe current operation and requirements
• review current effort supplied by SCA
• project out needs for 2 years (as much as possible)
