Analysis of the scope traces

scope_plot_2022_DEC_19.zip

  • PROBE delay at 76 mm
  • Main laser arrives at 3.983 (trace 7, left), 3.995 ns (trace 8, right) → 3.989 ns
  • Time difference: 705 ps (trace 7, left), 730 ps (trace 8, right) → 718 ps +/- 20 ps
  • blue: Oscilloscope, channel 2
  • yellow: derivative (calculated numerically)
  • dashed lines: inflection points found by maximizing the derivative

  • PROBE delay at -74 mm
  • Main laser arrives at 2.977 ns (trace 9, left) 2.983 ns (trace 10, right) → 2.980 ns

We obtain a total delay range of 1.009 ns. The range of the stage is 150 mm, for a two-pass delay we obtain 300 mm → 1.001 ns which is consistent with the data.
