Background
RRDs are a popular and efficient way of compacting and representing network performance data. Tools such as MRTG, FlowScan, SmokePing, Nagios etc use it extensively to store information such as throughput, latency, CPU load etc.
It currently includes integration of Holt-Winters forecasting built in. This project investigates into integrating various new event detection mechanisms and algorithms such as ARIMA/plateau/trend analysis etc.

Goals
- understand resolution dependence of RRDs and their effect on different event detection algorithsm
- understand the RRD code base and implement algorithms after consideration of above.
- Test event detection algorithms of the above.
