Code

  • We consider the transport through the electron spectrometer quads Q0, Q1, & Q2 to the beam dump
  • Calculate 2x2 (ABCD) transport matrix for a given energy
  • Propagate the properties of a Gaussian beam (Twiss parameters: beta, alpha, gamma) for the given transport matrix
  • beamline_2024_FEB_04.zip

Results

  • Imaging condition from PIC_CENT to DTOTR, calculated for 10 GeV:  -107.09557442 kG/m (outer quads),  169.75213787 kG/m (inner quad)

Blue: x-direction (horizontal) Yellow: y-direction (vertical)

  • Individual quad scans (1st row: Q0, 2nd row: Q1, 3rd row: Q2); the scan range is shown in the right plots; the plots on the left show "trajectories" for 20 different scan values (equally spaced across the scan range). The scan ranges were determined by the requirement that the beam size stays below ~1mm over the entire propagation range.
