  1. Register with SLUO (SLAC Users Organization)
    To register, fill in the form located at https://oraweb4.slac.stanford.edu/apex/epnprod/f?p=134
    Make sure to select CDMS under 'Experiment you will be working on.' On the second page, the current reference person is Richard Partridge.
    When the registration is complete you will receive a SLAC ID (SID) number that is needed for requesting a computer account.

  2. Apply for a SLAC computer account (apply for linux and windows)
    Fill, print, sign, scan the computer account request form at http://www2.slac.stanford.edu/comp/slacwide/account/account.html 
    Send the form to the CDMS computer czar, Concetta (Tina) Cartaro, or the SLAC supervisor, Rich Richard Partridge, to be approved and sent to the SLAC account-services.
    If you do not receive feedback within 2-3 working days please contact Tina or RichRichard.
    Follow directions for changing the default password(s) as soon as possible.

  3. Move on to Connecting to SLAC Computing Systems (confluence password required - see below) to test out your new account.

  4. Once your accounts are activated you have 30 days to complete Cyber Security Basics course online (windows password required).
    Failing to do so will result in the account locking, pending completion of the course.  You will also need to take periodic cyber security refresher courses.  Accounts that do not stay current with cyber security training will be deactivated.
