Subject: Re: New E. Coast of Africa Fibre - SLAC Confluence

Yes, the Zesco fibre in Zambia is recently connected via Namibia to South Africa.
There are no firm plans yet, however, for the Lilongwe (Malawi)-Lusaka (Zambia) connection it might even come after Dar-es-Salam connection.
The first possibility for Malawi is via MTL (Malawi Telecommunications Limited) - TDM (Telecommunicacoes De Mozambique) to Maputo (Mozambique).
MTL has announced an offering via Maputo which is however not much lower than VSAT...
Only competition can take this down and there is very little competition in sight in the near term, what ever route will be taken out of Malawi.
