We usually recommend new users install the PingER/traceroute tools in two parts.
You'll need a UNIX or Linux web server with perl, make, dig, mail, and lynx, crontab installed. Please disable SELinux if you're running it. You will also need a web server so we can gather the data on a daily basis.
The first step is to install the traceroute server. This is a good way to test that your web host has been configured correctly.
