Using the print server queues

For some large files (Hanne had a 2.3MB jpg) our printers flash an "insufficient memory" message and then print a message on the paper like "ERROR: limit check" and "OFFENDING COMMAND: image". The SLAC print servers seem to do a better job of handling these memory problems. To create a printer entry on MAC that uses the print server, do as above, but in the "Address" line use printserv.slac.stanford.edu. For the "Queue Name" use either "suncat-hp4025" or "suncat-hp3015".

Xerox Copier/Fax/Scanner

There is a black and white xerox copier/fax/scanner available. The extension for the fax is x2069. It can scan, but it cannot scan to email, so at the moment is probably useless. At some point I should try to see if I can get some sort of scanning to work.
