- Check permanent and variable filtering (flippies) for cameras in laser room – Laser cameras and alignment references Camera Alignment References
- Check permanent and variable filtering (flippies) for cameras in tunnel – Laser cameras and alignment references Camera Alignment References
- Determine safe set of motor positions for everything in the PB – Motor positionsFix hole size for laser shutter enclosures Reference Motor Positions
- Write up procedure/check list
- Find an reliable energy controlling method:
- Use wave plate + thin film polarizatior. This will have to test the minimum achievable energy using such combination (ideally <10mJ), and test the damage threshold of the polarizor http://physics-elog.slac.stanford.edu/facetelog/show.jsp?dir=/2022/13/28.03&pos=2022-03-28T15:58:17
- Measure change in collimation as function of pump delay (SAGA attenuation, WP+thin film polariser?)? – or come up with strategy to enable slow ramp up of energy without RP attenuator http://physics-elog.slac.stanford.edu/facetelog/show.jsp?dir=/2022/13/30.03&pos=2022-03-30T10:04:08
- Figure out how to send beam at lower repetition rate – Brendan suggested pulse slicer
- Fix the panels for laser shutter - a high power beam with diffraction profile may cause some hazard to the gratings – installed http://physics-elog.slac.stanford.edu/facetelog/show.jsp?dir=/2022/14/05.04&pos=2022-04-05T17:30:07
- Check with Spencer on how to use the DAQ for laser-only operation, e.g. to save CompNear/Far, PBNear/Far and probe cameras simultaneously, scan waveplate etc.
During ramp up
- Attenuate laser and gradually ramp up
- Check light levels on all cameras, look out for abnormalities that indicate damage
- Check vacuum levels as beam is dumped on compressor block
- Check vacuum levels as beam is dumped on laser beam dump in PB
- Check for damage, signs of ablation etc. around compressor block and laser beam dump in PB
- Check if scaling on laser diagnostics matches expected energy scaling (for on-shot energy measurement)
...
- Check optics and cameras for damage
Full power checklist
- Laser aligned upstairs, through transport and to diagnostics
- Check cameras for beam clips
- Motors in safe positions
- If probe only work, insert compressor beam block
- Laser flippers for filtering in, confirm on cameras, check for any clips
- Block laser
- Block CW diode
- Attenuate laser
- Remove RP attenuator
- Unblock laser
- Slowly ramp up while observing cameras and vacuum levels
- Full power!
