- At the command line, enter ics_cpc.exe
- Within ics_cpc.exe, enter option 3 ("Send start command to an ICS server").
- Press return to accept the default server when prompted ("Enter Name of ICS program [DEF]:").
- Startup will take several seconds. You should eventually get a message that says "ICS server: DEF is executing".
- If ICS fails to start, repeat this process, starting with step 2. It may take a few attempts to get ICS restarted.
- Enter Q to quit ics_cpc.exe
- Optional: Check that ICS is communicating properly with the hardware by running ics_cmd .exe at the command line. Within ics_cmd.exe, enter the command ALL to see a device listing. Devices should generally be listed as ONLINE. If there are a lot of devices listed as OFFLINE, that could indicate a problem.

- Enter Y when prompted ("Are you sure you wish to shutdown ICS server DEF [N]?").
- Shutdown will take approximately 10 seconds. You should eventually get a message that says, "ICS server: DEF has been shutdown". At this point, hardware can be restarted if necessary.
