Opening files

One can open a single LCIO file using the "File→ Open File" button sequence. This will open up a familiar file location browser where you can locate the file of interest.

One can also open a sequence of files using the or the "File→ Open Data Source" button sequence.

LCSim Event Browser

One can open the LCSim Event Browser using the "File→New → LCSimEvent Browser" button sequence:

or by clicking on the LCSim Event Browser icon on the navigation bar.

This lists displays the Event Header with its metadata and a list of all collections saved in the current LCIO event along with their types and sizes.

Rotate in 3D (spacebar + R )


Rotate in the viewer plane (spacebar + F )


Translate in the viewer plane (spacebar + T )


One can also measure distances (spacebar + R ). The distance will appear to the lower left of the display.


Pick an object (spacebar + H )


Pick all objects with within a rectangle (spacebar + P )

You can also save the image in a variety of vector and raster formats.


These menu items can also be accessed by right-clicking in the viewer and selecting Interaction.

One can customize the objects visible in the viewer by expanding either the Detector and Event Types or Instances.

Unchecking the unwanted items will remove them from the scene.
