After you have that SLAC system ID, fill out the two (unfortunately) non-electronic forms here and return them (as email attachments, if you choose) to the mighty administrator. Note that one of the forms requires a signature, so it would need to be scanned in order to be emailed. It takes about 1 day for the computer center to process these forms and the administrator to put you in the appropriate SUNCAT permissions lists.
For the computer account form:
- you need to select at least "unix" to use the farm.
- for email preferences select "none" if you are going to be short-term with the group.
for longer term people, you choose unix mail if you are a unix "guru", but most
people choose "exchange".
