New Cameras
New cameras are in a plastic bin in the B244 back room.
Procedure
Example: Replacing IPOTR1, IPOTR2, and DSOTR
Occasionally, cameras can get burned by lasers or damaged by radiation. See image Figure 1 on the right for an example of how cameras look after they are burned and need to be replaced.
Follow these steps to replace the camera:
- Before removing the old cameras, align HeNe to beam marks on FrontView, IPOTR1, IPOTR2, and DSOTR.
- This can be done with IP area vented or under vacuum. Note that you will have to realign HeNe going from vacuum to vented and vice-versa.
- Replace burned cameras with new cameras.
- Label cameras and note new serial numbers in the eLog.
- If possible, Lock the lens or try to remove the lens without adjusting the focus. Remount the camera and reattach the lens.
- After replacing the camera, reboot to connect. If the camera does not connect, an IOC reboot might be necessary. Rebooting the IOC should connect the new cameraIOC to connect.
- Verify alignment and focus.
- The HeNe should be in the center of the camera image.
- Update the beam mark for the new location and print to eLog. See Figure 2 on the right.
- The “mark” position on the OTR foils should be clear and in focus. You may need to use a flashlight for illumination. Send to eLog. See Figure 3 on the right.
Reset Reboot Count
After the camera has been replaced, reset the reboot count to 0:
[fphysics@facet-srv01 ~/shperez ]$ caput CAMR:LI20:102:REBOOTCOUNT 0 |
Also double check that the serial number has updated:
[fphysics@facet-srv01 ~/shperez ]$ caget CAMR:LI20:102:SerialNumber_RBV |
