  • Open a Terminal window on the Linux Machine.  In the upper left hand corner pull down menu, select System Tools → Terminal
  • In the terminal window, type  
    • ssh -Y xspress3@192.168.43.7
  • At the password prompt, type
    • x5pr3553
  • Once logged into the server, type the following command: 
    • screen 
    • xspress3-ioc.sh
  • To exit the screen shell session, type "Ctrl+a+d", that is, press Ctrl, a, and d buttons all together

  • Type

    • logout
  • Close the terminal window


At this point, you should be able to run either the web Ge program inside webXAS, or run xmapGUI, and see spectra.  If that does not work, leave the terminal window open, close all Firefox windows or xmapGUI application windows, restart ICS, Restart ICS and reopen the application.
