The documentation of the new compressor can be found here.

Preparation

  • bring viewing cards: sensitive IR card (with both orange and white ones), and orange paper card.
  • 120 Hz MPA1 amplified beam: assuming you have done the alignments of MPA2, and the big x3 telescope. you have amplified MPA2 and satisfied the energy and mode. Now you turn off the GAIA and align with MPA1 amplified 120Hz beam.
  • Open cameras: open the following camviews
    • CompInNF
    • CompInFF
    • CompG2
    • CompOutNF
    • CompOutFF

...

  • Slightly close the iris right before the periscope behind the energy limiter.
  • Adjust T3 to center i0. CompInNF can be used to check the alignment. When it's done, make sure the beam is in the center of CompInNF.
  • Adjust M0 to center i1 and i2. i1 and i2 should be both good to make sure the beam enters the compressor at the correct angle. IR card or CompOutNF can be used to check the alignment. When done remove both irises.
  • Insert the plum bob at the place of i2. the shadow of in and out should overlap with each other. If it's off, consider re-align the compressor. the The detailed procedure is here.
  • Adjust M1 and M2 to center the beam on i3, i4, and i5. When the beam is centered on i3 and i4, i5 should be centered too. IR card or CompOutNF can be used to check the alignment. When done remove all the irises.
  • Move the imager mirrors to center the beam in CompOutFF and  CompOutNF.
  • Adjust the M3 mirror to center the beam to the chamber crosshairs. when it's done, check i5 and move it if needed.
