  1. If you don't have a GitHub account, make one
  2. Send your username to Brian Van Klaveren (email bvan@slac.stanford.edu or ping brianv on Slack) asking for access to SLAC LabNote: This step has very high potential to end up out of date if someone else ends up managing SLAC Lab, so keep that in mind.a message to #comp-general on Slack (slac.slack.com) with your username asking to be added to SLAC lab and to the "everyone" team therein
  3. Navigate over to the ops team on SLAC Lab and request to join
  4. Back on an OPI (or SSHed inin lcls-srv01 (the account on the OPIs), Run "set_profile [YOUR USERNAME]" then ssh into mcclogin
     
  5. From there, ssh into rhel6-64

  6. From there, cat your ssh key
    Image Removedwith "cat ./ssh/id_rsa.pub"
  7. Copy the entire output (starts with ssh-rsa and ends with your email address).
  8. Back on GitHub, go to your settings 
  9. And add a new SSH key
  10. Title it something descriptive, paste in the output you got from cat, and save it! 

    1. Note: the simplest way to do this is to use the MD Page browser on the OPI, but you could also work around it by emailing yourself the key or something (v not secure, but what can you do)
