On 24 February 2022, the Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine by Russian Armed Forces previously concentrated along the border. At that time the PingER project was only monitoring 2 sites in Ukraine: mail.kipt.kharkov.ua and ns.kiev.ua. Since then we have added over 20 more sites.
In addition one of the original two monitored sites (mail.kipt.kharkov.us) was a PingER Beacon site that was monitored from 11 10 PingER sites around the world, in particular, the closest PingER monitoring site from Ukraine was DESY in Hamburg Germany.
