Generalities:
- Made accessible on the SLAC network (IP assignment) through SLAC IT (they provided access to the ; this required to give them access and let them "manage" the device; we still have sudo rights. The software modifications ("chef" script") were carried out by E-320 (SLAC_IT_discussion.pdf)
- The device is shielded from the internet, but we can do software updates and install packages via apt
- Main purpose: access the Thorlabs motor controller KIM 101 (KIM101-APTManual.pdf), which is connected to the pi via USB
