It fails to run, because it doesn't have the right libstdc+. This is due SL5 having a gcc 4.x. The easiest way around is to install the libstdc+ compatibilty compatibility rpm for gcc 3.x. after this has been done, it works fine

 Similar fixes probalby probably apply to a lot of other gcc 4 based systems
