- There was a brief self-presentation by each member. This way we found out that both LCLS and Fermi are now using SCons. - Richard explained the budget situation. Nothing new is known beyond David M. Monday PPA All-Hands. Lab management is spending a lot of time in DC these days. Hopefully that will be beneficial. - Richard also warned about Oracle's new pricing scheme for Sun hardware. We will no longer get the same discounts (after June 1) which effectively means a %50 price increase. There is also a new DOE rule which says DOE must sign off on all spending of foreign money. The approval is not speedy. - Don is no longer signing the time sheet of anyone that is being transfered to PPA. The new department only starts April 1. Need to bridge the gap. The solution should be that RM signs them until then. To be confirmed. - J. Perl mentioned that non-profit orgnaizations have a x10 larger size limit in Google groups. - Richard and Anders are talking to Kathy Webb who is working on the practical matters. We will define a signature procedure (for things like travel, purchases, etc) in time for April 1, along with the Org chart, dep code etc. - Norman has submitted the request for a PPA SCA web site. The idea is that it will have the one-lab look and feel, and point back to Confluence where we control the content. - When the web site is up we will we will aim for a short bio of the group members, like this: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/GLAST/team/index.html The bio should include core competencies. - There was a presentation of (Super)CDMS by Anders. - On their way out people put their cell phone numbers and private email adresses on a sheet of paper. In case people need to be contacted in an emergency (lab closed etc).
