From planner@xsystem.nascom.nasa.gov Tue Feb 3 10:19:25 2009 Date: Tue, 3 Feb 2009 13:19:21 -0500 (EST) From: RXTE SOF Planners Reply-to: xteplan@bigbang.gsfc.nasa.gov Subject: RXTE Update: 93143 Wk 680 Dear JENNIFER CARSON, *** PLEASE NOTE: LOCATION OF REALTIME DATA HAS CHANGED *** (August 2008 - See below for new locations.) The schedule of observations for RXTE has been altered. The new schedule for your observation, 93143, is shown below. The complete short-term schedule can always be found at: http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/xte/SOF/sts.html or the short-form short-term schedule at: http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/xte/SOF/Schedules/index.php The RXTE SOF offers several services for accessing data. These are completely separate from and in addition to the "official" fully- processed data distributed by the RXTE GOF. ACCESS TO SOF SERVICES: - access key for proposal 93143: - SOF web site: http://rxte.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/xte/SOF/SOF_data_hp.html DESCRIPTION OF SOF SERVICES (all available on the SOF web site, above): - Realtime FITS data: + Within a few hours of an observation's end (and usually much sooner!), FITS files are available on the SOF's FTP server, containing ALL data modes (HEXTE and PCA, standard and science modes). The files are available until the production-quality data arrives, and then a better-quality product is made (see next item). - Pseudo-Production FITS data: + FITS files made from production data (pseudo-production data) are available on the SOF's ftp server. The pseudo-production FITS files for a given day are typically made available the next morning, although they can be delayed, depending on when the SOF actually receives the data. Like the realtime data, these data include both standard and all the science modes for PCA and HEXTE data. Note: These production files are not the final version of the production data which will be available to you. The final version, which passes thorugh more checks for completeness, will be made available usually 1-2 weeks after observation, through the GOF download area. The SOF provides this service simply as a convenient mechanism for getting data out as quickly as possible. You will receive a separate message from the RXTE GOF when the final data-processing version of your data is available. Also, note that the production files provided by the SOF will differ from those distributed by the GOF. The directory structure within the FITS tar file is different, and the clock and orbit files are not yet provided in the SOF version. SOF-made FITS files can be found at the following FTP sites: Realtime SOF-made data ftp://legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov/xte/data/xtesof/pub/FITS/ Production SOF-made data ftp://legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov/xte/data/xtesof/pub/FITS/production NOTE: All data can be decrypted ONLY with one of the following: gpg versions 1.06 or higher pgp versions 6.0 or higher Thank you, RXTE Schedulers c/o xteplan@athena.gsfc.nasa.gov Please be sure to send all correspondence regarding scheduling to the xteplan mailing list, and not to an individual scheduler.
