h1. ACAT 2008 highlights "Are we ready for LHC data"

ACAT = Advanced Computing and Analysis Techniques in (High-Energy) Physics Research
Originated as "Artificial Intelligence is High Energy Nuclear Physics. The AIHEP92 conference was the first time WWW was presented outside of CERN (World Wide Web - An information infrastructure for High-Energy physics).

h2. Highlights

* Location was spectacular (Erice, Sicily)

* Program was (of course) heavily slanted to LHC. Lots of stuff on (use of) Root.
* Surprisingly little emphasis on GRID (taken for granted -- or everyone is sick of talking about it?)
