What is a wiki?
"Wiki" comes from the Hawaiian word for quick. It is essentially a website that allows anyone with read privileges to write to it. For example, if I find a typo or a broken link on a website, there is no need to contact the webmaster and have him/her input html code to change it. Instead, you could click on a link on that page that says "Edit this page" and edit it yourself. For example, see this wiki page on Wikipedia.org: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki>.

How do I create a new page?
To create a new page, click on "Add Page" in the top right. Alternatively, go to the existing page (the one that will link to the new page) and click on "edit". Then, place the name of the new page in square brackets in the desired location and click "update". Then, clicking the link to your new page should lead you directly to the "edit" screen of that page. All new pages should be linked to at least one existing page.

How do I edit a page?
See the "Edit" link at the top of the page? Just click on that and make any changes in the box that comes up. (If you can't see it, you either don't have write-privileges or are not logged in. Please contact TechSupport if you believe you have been wrongly denied access to a page.) Specific questions regarding content (e.g. How do I make text bold?) are answered in the NotationGuide.

What is a "minor edit"? When should I use it?
This wiki archives all changes made to a page to allow for backtracking and to prevent malicious changes. However, if the "minor change" box below the input area on the "edit" page is checked, that change will be logged differently. Searches of the page history and RSS feeds, for example, should ignore the change, unless specifically prompted not to do so. Generally, this should only be used if no new content is added or removed, such as a correction to grammar, punctuation, or spelling.

How do I undo changes made to a page?
Instead of undoing all the changes by hand, go to the "Info" tab on the page of interest, and then click on "View Page History". This should bring up a list of all changes made to the page. Find the version you want and click on "Restore this version" to revert back to that version.

If I see an error, broken link, or correction that needs to be made to a page, whom should I contact?
One of the benefits of a wiki is that there is no need for a webmaster! Generally, if you see something that needs to be corrected, by all means go ahead and correct it yourself! If it's a major change that needs to be revisited, you might want to leave a comment at the bottom of the page for others. In rare instances, however, a page is most efficiently maintained by one or a few people. In that case, if you are responsible for that page, say so clearly at the bottom of the page so that others can contact you if changes need to be made. Depending on circumstances, you may want to restrict editing or viewing using the menus at the bottom of the "edit" screen.

How do I track changes that have been made to the wiki since I last logged in?
For any particular page, edits to the wiki are logged and are sorted by date. These changes can be accessed under "Recent Changes" at the "Info" tab at the top of the page. For all changes made to the workspace, you must track the entire space. I suggest using the "Watch" feature at the top right (or your favorite RSS aggregator) to track the entire space or pages of particular interest to you.

My question is not listed here! What should I do?
Try fiddling around with the program to see if you can solve the problem yourself. If not, try asking someone else who uses this wiki. If you're still stuck after that, try consulting the official Confluence FAQ or contacting TechSupport.
